About me

A little about me

Right. My name is, as you already have made out, Vegar. It's a fairly common Norwegian name, though usually written "Vegard" (the uncommon spelling of my name led to many a funny episode at elementary school. Ha ha.) . I was born in July, 1987, meaning I've been around for over 20 years. Wow. I grew up in the nineties with Nintendo games, Pogs, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and cheesy radio pop music (which my older sister usually exposed me to). I've been exposed to computers throughout my life, mainly because my father is a computer administrator at an elementary school. Other than being bullied a lot, I'd say I had a pretty happy childhood.

I had a lot of dreams as to what I would do for a living. First I was gonna be a veterinary. Then a movie script writer. And an illustrator. And a lot of other things too. I eventually discovered the world of web design, and fell in love with web coding and clean, minimalistic web layouts. My teachers in high school tried to get me into other things, but eventually got tired of trying to get me into animation and graphic design. I'm currently working to get a bachelors degree in Information Technology, in hopes of becoming a full-time web designer. I would also like to work in photography someday, but that dream is bottled for now. I idolize Dan Cederholm, Veerle Pieters, Dave Shea, Nick La, Douglas Bowman and a lot of other great designers/coders.

Other than that, there's not a lot of interesting things to say about me. I'm a wrestling fan, and spend a lot of free time on Wrestlingforum.com, where I'm known, more or less, as Kibondo. I have a secret hobby collecting old cartoons, such as Pink Panther and the Hanna Barbera cartoons. I'm really nostalgic, to be honest. I also love reading Calvin and Hobbes. I usually listen to electronic music, like trance or ambient. I seriously dislike Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, Tokio Hotel, Fergie and other artists who get famous for songs that could be characterised as terrible. I don't care much for metal either.

I'm also a good pianist, and I am a black belt graduate in Tae Kwon Do.
